The leather goods experts at Coach are on somewhat of a home run — foreshadowing pun alert! — with their new spring items that are landing in stores now. For one, those wallets and small goods we previously mentioned, made of vintage 1930s baseball gloves that are sewn together over the course of three days, are hitting shelves now, just in time for slugger season.
But if old baseball gloves aren’t quite your thing, how about this: Coach also took new baseball leather (“Genuine Baseball Glove Leather”), with its unique mix of oils and waxes in the tannage, to create the chic duffle you see above — the bottom one. You’ve gotta admit that shade of brown is exceptional, and so too are the darker accents that help define the shape. Carry it to the gym, and be sure to lock your locker. Because, someday, if you have it long enough, it might look like the original Coach bag from the 1970s (up top) that was the inspiration for this new piece. Like we said: Home run.
