Guitar Hero and Rock Band were fun while they lasted, but at the end of the day we were not in any way closer to knowing how to play a real guitar. Unlike those time sinks, gTar’s got a pretty good chance of teaching you a thing or two about rocking out, since it’s actually a normal electric guitar (minus the pickups, plus strum sensors) fused with an iPhone dock. Pick a difficulty and gTar’s app integration starts coaching you with its rather large array of fret-mounted LEDs.
