[New Music Tuesday] Choklate “Fly”

Today, Seattle-based singer/songwriter CHOKLATE has released an EP entitled, FLY. In 2009 Choklate released her sophomore album entitled To Whom It May Concern. It was during that recording process that Choklate experienced two devastating losses, one right after another. In late 2008, while performing in Atlanta with the legendary Roy Ayers, Choklate learned of her big brother’s untimely passing and 3 months later in 2009 she laid her beloved Grandmother to rest. Thru music, her faith and her family’s love and support Choklate was able to complete her 2009 sophomore album and grew from every life changing experience. As Choklate continued to heal over the past 4 years she continued to love, she continued to live, she continued to grow and she continued to share her life experiences from an honest place….her music.

“Some of the songs came from family, some of them from hard times, confusing times, loving times, painful times…self reflective times…I mean, you could name just about any significant moment in my life over the last few years & it’s probably represented on this record.”

For Choklate FLY represents the moments when she feels most at peace and happy, most on par w/ her destiny and in the flow of life being lived w/ purpose and destiny.

Some of the FLY producers are: Illmind, DJ Kemit, Tha Bizness, Musiq Soulchild, Kuddie Fresh, Vitamin D, Wajeed, Slop Funk Dust, Marcus D & Illoquint…

FLY is available now on iTunes and Amazon. And learn more about Choklate by visiting her site here.
